Weekly Jetsam 1.8.2023
Sharing my favorite mediation guide, a must watch documentary and a quote from Brianna Wiest to ponder.
Happy Sunday!
It was a dreary week in Massachusetts, but the sun made a triumphant return today. I celebrated by taking a slow walk on the beach with ⅓ of the dog pack. After days of clouds, I was surprised with the amount of daylight we’ve gained. It wasn’t pitch black out at 4:30!
Before I give you my weekly roundup of favorites, I have one exciting announcement…
I’m going to be publishing a journal this month! If you like scavenger hunts and nature this is right up your alley. I’ll drop more details in my newsletters as it gets closer!
Wishing you a peaceful start to your week.
Wholeheartedly,
Maggie
Meditations:
This week I rekindled my love of meditation guide,
. It had been a few months since I listened to her mediations, but when my body was screaming with pent up emotions the other day I knew it was time to pull out an old tool. Sarah didn’t disappoint. Her meditations have shattered my heart over and over again in the best ways. I end up in healthy, cathartic tears 75% of the time. They are the perfect blend of beautiful words and music.
If you’re looking for my favorites, “Making You Life Sacred” got me through the end of 2021 whole, and “I Would Like to Give You Permission” is a one I revisit frequently.
I also enjoy weaving in and out of her book, Heartminded.
1 week left to hit 100 subscribers & I just need a HANFUL more. Help me out?
Podcast/Documentary:
If you haven’t watched Stutz on Netflix, you need to stop reading and go do it immediately. Phil Stutz is a therapist whose approach might be considered unorthodox, however, it is right up my alley.
I really enjoy his desire to arm people with easy to understand and actionable tools to use in their own lives. So when I saw that he was a guest on Armchair Expert this week I was super excited.
Even if you’re not a self-development junky, he is a super interesting human. Take a listen, but at BARE MINIMUM go watch that documentary.
I’m also posting on Instagram between newsletters & continuing to blog.
Quotes:
I will leave you with this post from Brianna Wiest. It’s a good reminder as we start a new year and one that resonated deeply with me. I am continually finding ways to “create my own universe” and it really can make all the difference.
