It’s summer!
How was your Solstice? I spent the last week reevaluating my thoughts about summer. My journal has pages on pages of me trying to work out why my so-called “favorite season”, tends to bring a wave of dis-ease every year. That was pretty much my theme for the last week—intentionally digging & reaching into the gunky, yucky, hurt places and doing some processing. As the lyrics in one of my “mantra” songs goes, "Sometimes you gotta go there just so you could come back”.
When I went to compile my findings for this newsletter today, I realized just how little I actually “consumed”. So, I’m going to do this a bit differently today.
Here is a really unorganized list of 10 things I’ve been thinking, doing, etc.
What have you been up to?
10 things from my week
I spent an entire morning listening to the Hamilton Soundtrack. I forgot how amazing it is, and how much I love it.
I’m halfway through the book: Love, Nature, Magic.
I re-listened to Brene Brown’s book, Braving the Wilderness.
I’m determined to lean into more play this summer, —I’ve made sandcastles, played with Shrinky Dinks, and bought bubbles. Coming soon: sidewalk chalk.
I’ve been on the hunt for daily delights. Ross Gay’s, The Book of Delights is on my very long ‘to-read’ list.
I spent the afternoon of Father’s day at a lovely cookout and some of my favorite humans. So grateful as I continue to lean into & assemble my “found family”. It’s fun to have pockets in all sorts of different places.
I recorded a podcast with my friend Inggrid. I started this newsletter as a product of the coaching program we both did, and she decided to start learning how to podcast. It was a really fun thing to sit down and do. It allowed me to realize how much I’ve accomplished since we recorded the first one in December and it’s also a joy to spend time chatting with her.
I went to a Human Design workshop on Wednesday night. I’m a Projector. It’s a lot of information, but another cool thing to have in your toolbox. For anyone that is familiar— I then met TWO reflectors on Saturday (they only make up 1% of the population)!
I last minute volunteered at an amazing event yesterday for a few hours and am continually reminded at just how small our world really is.
I’m looking forward to a lazy beach day today in good company!

Ooh, love nature magic sounds amazing. How do you like it so far? And I’m enjoying a beach day too! We are on Lake Michigan this week and today was probably the warmest day we’ll get so I made sure to get in the water.
