[insert your preferred greeting here]
This week felt like 3 morphed into one for me. I’m not sure what happened to the days. Actually, I do know what happened—I launched an offering, am winding down from a part-time job, and am about to start another, collaborating hard, on the New England weather rollercoaster, had a ceiling fan break, and then just you know human-ing. This is not a complaint. I’m loving the way the universe is working with me, sometimes those days just disappear quickly!
I’m discovering that after I launch something my brain & heart has crafted into the world, there is a span of a few days that are filled with relief & surrender. The thing is out there. The “heavy” lifting is done and now I can integrate the things I learned along the way and refill my gas tank.
That’s why you had to pick your own greeting today!
In case you missed it on Wednesday, the things I launched are the arrive meetups I am running this summer. The response has been wonderful. I’m so happy that people are committing to taking an hour for themselves each week. I am extra, extra, extra happy that some newsletter readers are joining too!
I’m hosting in-person meetups starting on 6/24, and virtual meetups starting 6/26. Our focus is syncing up with summer.
If you want to join any or all of them you can find more information here. I’d love to have you!
Old journals & scribbles
There’s no link to click with this one, but I’ve been finding tremendous value in revisiting my journals and notes from the last few years. Three are things scrawled in there that didn’t add up, or seemed impossible at the time, but are sitting right in front of my face. Sometimes imagining looking through our old, raw, and unfiltered thoughts can seem like a torturous idea, but I believe that if you sent an intention about why you’re doing it & what you’re looking for it can be really powerful.
The Simple Things Magazine
I’ve totally shared my love for this UK mag before. Somehow I will find a way to my hands on a physical copy. Barnes & Noble carries it. I enthusiastically strolled in there last month ready to snag a copy, only to discover they were a whole month behind and blamed international shipping. Rude.
ANYWAYS, their June issue, Linger, has an article titled The Joy of the 5-9. Loved it. I wanted to link it for you, but they didn’t blog that one.
However, I did find this post they shared about “gökotta”. A Swedish word that translates to, “rising at dawn to listen to bird song”. HOW GREAT IS THAT!?
You can buy the digital version online, or possibly get it from your library. If you live in a place where you can buy the physical copy—I’m envious. Enjoy it for me.
I watched zero TV this week. I did watch far too much TikTok on Friday night. Mostly, I’ve just been watching my new perennials and keeping my fingers crossed for flowers.
We Can Do Hard Things- Delights
I love this podcast and this episode where they each share current delights in their lives made me laugh and left me so filled. Does anyone want to start a daily delight practice? I’m your girl.
Noah Kahan- Stick Season
I’ve been fiercely consuming this album since it dropped last year. On Friday Noah released the deluxe version and it didn’t disappoint. His lyrics have a way of speaking to my depressed & angsty inner teenager, and my current more evolved self. I mean THIS SONG. My parents are dead and I literally never wanted to leave my hometown, and didn’t BUT there was some real healing in these lyrics for me.
I FORGOT A QUOTE LAST WEEK. So here is a mic drop thought to make up for it.
» Be a part of the ‘arrive mindful meetups’ starting at the end of the month.
»Soak in summer with a little mindfulness scavenger hunt.
»Check out what I’m up to between newsletters. Follow along on Instagram.
And definitely going to try out the “what’s keeping you from...” reframe with every member of my family. Lol.
That magazine looks magical - I hope I can find it at my library. And watching the perennials bloom is my favorite pastime 😆
