Happy belated birthday, sweet friend. I don’t know your whole story, and I don’t assume to, but I would venture to guess that you know just as well as I do that life has seasons — and you’re honoring your seasons beautifully, even if it doesn’t always feel like it in the moment. You give time and energy, and most importantly you give contemplation to your life, and you live with your heart open. I think 3 or 13 would be pretty damn proud of how 34 looks on you.

Michael, your comment really moved me on this gray Sunday morning. Thank you for pointing back in the direction of nature. She sure knows how to be a guidepost for us doesn't she? From one openhearted courageous human to another....thank you!

Happy birthday! I often don’t think about my birthday much either. Often, it was just another day. Now, I do think about it more and have some friends and family to celebrate it with. It seems odd after so long letting it slide by unnoticed.

I like the idea of making your new year a project! I’ll have to think about what that might mean for myself. I’m curious to see what highways you’ll travel this year!

Thanks Mollie for sharing your take! Birthdays are such an interesting thing aren't they? It's funny when I put this together and noticed highways I was thinking very literally and now your comment has me headed down a beautiful metaphorical rabbit hole. I smell another newsletter in the making!
