Ah, April. What the hell happened to March?
I know I sound like one of *those* people making small talk about how quickly time goes by, but seriously March flew by. I’m honestly okay with that because I have officially crowned March my least favorite month after December. I practiced a lot of acceptance & trust last week.
Some things I accepted: I can’t force creativity, my body & mind needed rest, some days grief needs to be prioritized, there are people who genuinely believe and love in me simply because of who I am.
Some things I trusted: my ability to resource myself in challenging moments, hitting pause on my to-do list wouldn’t send me into a spiral, others to be in charge of themselves.
Here’s a quick photo drop from my week:
NYT: The Case for Sleeping With Stuffed Animals as an Adult
This article from last month that appeared on my Facebook feed the other day. I really enjoyed it probably because Louie the Lobster, my childhood stuffed animal, still lives in my nightstand drawer. Louie 1,000% comes out when I need a little comfort.
What was your favorite stuffed animal or comfort object?
I watched a lot of TV this week, which is not typically my thing, but it was totally the escape my mind needed. My go-to shows are typically pretty wholesome because I can’t stomach crime TV or anything with too much violence. Here’s what I’ve been watching & loving. Are any of them on your list?
Sanditon—I mean who doesn’t love a cheesy Jane Austen based, seaside drama.
Ted Lasso—Ultimate comfort TV. Love every one of the characters.
Shrinking—Just started this one and really enjoying it. I love when shows let humans be humans.
I’ve been working hard to really make softening an integral part of my life.
Bonus: sometimes my Instagram algorithm really delivers some gems. I am LOVING this hummingbird account and eagerly awaiting the arrival of my hummingbird friends in a few weeks.
