It’s been a long time…
since I’ve done a weekly roundup of things I’ve found insightful or enjoyable. It’s a raw, rainy Sunday here in Massachusetts and the timing seemed right to share a few!
I know everyone is saying this but, I can’t believe it’s December. It’s also been almost a year since I started writing this newsletter! If you’ve been here since the start—thank you. I’m about to embark on the Artist’s Way with a few friends, and I am curious to see how the experience shapes my writing. Stay tuned!
Before I dive into my shares, I want to invite you to a FREE event I’m running this Tuesday at 6:00-7:00PM EST: 2023 Wrapped- Guided Journaling & Reflection for the Year Ahead. Please come!
Through fun prompts and playful exercises, you'll craft your personal map for the year ahead. It's a chance to visualize, set intentions, and sprinkle some magical plans into your new year's pot. Plus, take home your own toolkit filled with writing prompts and strategies to keep the creative spark alive in your everyday life.
1. All Things Julia Child.
My dad loved to cook, and I love to cook. I also loved to watch Julia Child reruns. After he died, I backed off all things cooking, but….I’m warming back up!
A huge part of that has to do with the series, Julia on HBO. I’m obsessed not only with her work in the kitchen but also learning about her as a human.
Have you watched the series? I’m thinking a pilgrimage to DC to see her kitchen again might be in my cards soon. Did I order myself a copy of Mastering as an early Christmas present, sure did!
2. Vintage Christmas.
I’ve always had an incredible sentimental attachment to Christmas decorations. Which is strange because I’m not generally a stuff person. After losing my parents, even the thought of looking at family Christmas decor packed inside a box was too much, so I avoided it almost entirely last year.
Yesterday, I woke up and I trusted my grief when I felt compelled to dig some out. I had a great time pulling out vintage Santa mugs and these amazing wreaths that actually came from my grandparent’s house. The house feels nice and cozy. What are some of your favorite decorations?
3. Grief Chats
If you’ve been reading this newsletter you know I haven’t shy-ed away from talking about grief. I recently had the chance to have a beautiful conversation about navigating grief with some amazing, loving, and courageous women. You can check out that episode below. I’d love to hear what you think!
4. Kid Crafts (as an adult)
Last year I rekindled my love of Shrinky-Dinks. This winter it’s all about the Perler Beads. My friend invited me over for a night of festive crafting a few weeks ago and I was instantly hooked. Did I take advantage of a Black Friday special and snag some Perler beads for myself, yep! Can you tell I like the beach from my creations? When was the last time you played with a craft or toy from your younger years?
I’ll leave you with a few song I’ve been enjoying! Wishing you a peaceful and ease-filled week!

Beautiful Chorus are amazing. I listen to them most days. :-)
Love those pines and your meatball dish looks amazing. I’ll have to check out that series - I love Julia too!
